Our Story
Garret Elementary was created out of a simple observation: in many schools, children can get lost in the crowd. We started Garret to build the other kind of school - a small, close-knit place where a kindergartner and a fifth grader know each other by name, where teachers stay for years, and where parents are partners, not visitors.
Our campus at 7935 Swarner Drive in Lenexa serves kindergarten through fifth grade. We keep classes intentionally small, so instruction can meet each child where they are.
Garret Elementary is registered with the Kansas State Department of Education as a nonaccredited private school (Confirmation #156313) and operates in full compliance with Kansas private school registration requirements.

We keep total enrollment modest and cap each grade at a small number so one teacher rarely has more than a dozen or so students. That is the whole point: teachers can truly know each child.
We blend proven early-education approaches: literature-based reading, mastery-focused math, hands-on science, and integrated social studies, all layered with art, music, and daily outdoor play.
Garret Elementary teaches character and values in a faith-friendly environment. Families of many backgrounds are welcome; ask us about the details of our approach.
